Project Marketplaces
freelancer.com – $19.95 per month. Very active community who respond quickly with quotes.
odesk.com – Some activity – Asks purchaser for initial project price disclosure. So prices are based more on budget constrained by specification than more watertight specifications. Tends to generate higher prices. Awkward bank registration process with transaction sizes as a check can cause delays.
Guru.com – Overly basic search facilities to search for vendors. Insists that you use their escrow service (2%) for new relationships.
eLance.com – Better vendor search tools but very little traffic on the site. There are some bugs in the account registration process.
99designs – Appears to waste designer’s time by asking for large numbers of examples.
Behance – Visual design work and portfolio presentation as well as task management.
ScriptLance – Technical programming tasks
Solvate – Task outsourcing (Unfortunately geographically restricted)
